At United Way of Greater Mercer County, we understand that good health is both a community responsibility and a community benefit. By partnering with community based organizations throughout Mercer County, we are working to create a more resilient community.

SUMMER HUNGER

Strike Out Hunger is a multi-prong initiative that unites companies, individuals, and advocates to alleviate hunger in Mercer County. There were already 55,000 local families struggling to make ends meet* and the pandemic has exponentially increased this number. Strike Out Hunger will provide meals, fresh produce, and non-perishables to food pantry beneficiaries during the summer months when food becomes even more scarce for households in our community. Learn more...

SINGLECARE

In partnership with SingleCare, we make prescriptions more affordable to the community. SingleCare provides financial relief to individuals and families in Mercer County that rely on prescriptions medication. Learn more...

EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER PROGRAM

The Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) is a federally-funded program administrated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). We are the fiscal agent for these funds and convene a local board that determines which social service agencies receive the funds in Mercer County.  The local board does this through an allocation formula using the most recent national population, unemployment, and poverty statistics.
