Betsy Hanna is a global healthcare and biotech executive with a proven track record building market value in medical device and diagnostic businesses. Her background includes senior leadership roles with Fortune 100 companies, as well as start-ups. She has led teams through all stages of development and commercialization for products in Medical Devices and Diagnostics, in the US and globally.
Ms. Hanna was most recently CEO and President at Clinical Genomics where she was recruited to develop and execute go-to-market strategies and accelerate the commercialization of liquid biopsy tests to detect colorectal cancer. While at CG, she successfully led two private funding and licensing rounds, accelerated Medicare reimbursement and doubled payment for a new liquid biopsy test, and built a unique clinical position for the product based on significant and differentiated clinical data. Prior to Clinical Genomics, Ms. Hanna was the President and COO at Origin, Inc., a clinical-stage biotech company, where her responsibilities included product development and manufacturing, negotiating clinical study design with FDA and completing a first-in-human study, and creating a business plan to support private funding for a Class III medical device.
Prior to Origin, Ms. Hanna had increasing responsibility in commercial and regional general management roles at Johnson & Johnson. As Vice President of Strategic Marketing and a member of the Global Management Board for J&J Vision Care, she was responsible for global product strategy, global market growth plans, and agency selection and advertising strategy for J&J’s largest global consumer brand, Acuvue. As VP Global Marketing and then VP Europe, Mideast, and Africa region at Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, her responsibilities included global instrument launch and regional market share growth for both capital instruments and their associated diagnostic test menu. In her tenure at Ortho, Ms. Hanna launched 2 new diagnostics platforms globally and doubled the company’s market growth in Europe.
In 2021, Ms. Hanna joined the Board of Directors for Treace Medical Concepts, Inc., a high-growth orthopedics company focused on ankle and foot solutions. She has been on the Board of Directors for United Way of Greater Mercer County since 2018.
Ms. Hanna holds a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Illinois and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
